My hero. I had almost all of his LP. I went to his show first time this year! But I regret I didn't buy a necklace then. Because it was a rubbish, thought I will never wear it. No, it was crazy expensive actually. If I would have an opportunity to buy it again, I won't do it.

創業６６年、京都老舗の和裁、洋裁の専門店。一度も行ったことはないけど、僕の恋人が働いているお店。今年はこれを機会に自分で洋服を作ってみようと思う。（多分作らないけど。）とにかく色んな糸とかボタンが揃ってるみたいだし一度遊びに行ってみたい。

A shop running 66 years now. It has many buttons, fabric, thread and yarn for both Japanese and Western cloths. I've never been to but my girl is working here. I'd try making a cloth this year -it won't happen though-. It would be nice to visit there watching such a many buttons or threads.

2010年のアルバムだそうだけど、その時は全く知らなくて今年とにかく聴きまくった。最高。それ以上に言葉が見つからないけど、この世界観をこの先超えられるアーティストは現れないんじゃないかと思う。それ位のアルバム。間違いなく傑作。

I didn't know this one when it's released in 2010. It's one of records I most listend in 2012. I have only the word 'BEST!' to mention it. I can say that no one will do better than this. This is a masterpiece.

・BLACKBLACK  "BLACKBLACK LP"

金持ちの道楽じゃないとこんな音楽できないなんて昔某ラジオで言われてたBLACKBLACKの初LP。やっとでたと思ったらもう解散しちゃったみたいですね、DIVA（ベースボーカルの女の子）のLPも良かったけどどこっちの完成しきれてない感じと一つにまとまらない感じがとても好きです。

A man said in a radio programme that this is rich basterd's wasting time. I was glad to have it after long waiting but they had already gone. I liked DIVA -a girl playing Ba/Vo in BLACKBLACK- LP, but favour this one. I love it because it's rough, like it's unfinished.

・喫茶　静香

近所にある昭和12年創業の喫茶店、背もたれが直角に曲がった座り心地の悪いソファー、風が直接顔に当たるエアコン、コーヒーもホットケーキも特別に美味いって訳ではないけど何故か行ったら長居してしまう不思議な喫茶店。店主のおばあちゃんとバイトの大学生の会話もこのお店の魅力になってるのがおもしろいです。

My neighbour coffee shop established since 1937. Uncomfortable sofa, wind from AC hit my face directly, coffee and pancake are not so good. But I always stay long here. It's another good point that words between grandma -boss- and young part time girl are lovely.

煮込み料理のお店。カウンター席のみなので常に満席状態でなかなか入れないけどここのもつ味噌煮込みとミノおろしポン酢を食べながらサッポロ黒ラベル呑むのが最高です。

A good Izakaya -Japanese bar-. It's always busy as here is the tiny place. I love drinking here.

少し時間はかかりましたがやっとオープンです。
今は情報を集めている場としての機能ですが、
今後は見て楽しんでもらえるような内容も増やしていきたいです。
現在TopページではUnder Consideration by Ed N.Sted (HOTEL MEXICO cover)の PVを公開しています。
 1年程前に作ってから出せる場所を探していたカバーなので是非見てください。

そして、初の海外でのライブが決まりました！！！
これは「やっとかないかんやろ」っていう話をずっとしてたので嬉しいです。

春に海外レーベルからリリースして、夏に海外でのライブをしてと
少しずつやりたいことを進めていけています。
現状は一か所だけなのでもう一つでも二つでも出来ればと思っていますが、
この一か所だけでも有名なハコで出来るので楽しんできます。

更新滞っていましたが、今回はさすがに更新します。
既にtwitterやFacebookでアナウンスさせてもらいましたが、
イギリスのDouble Denim Recordsより7inchをリリースします！！4月予定です。
曲は二曲とも去年夏からライブでやっている曲なので、来てくれてる人は知っていると思います。
リリースをアナウンス出来るまでに時間がかかるっていう体験をして不思議な感じですが、
待っただけにやっとアナウンス出来る！っていうのに興奮してます。
下に貼ってますが、ジャケがすごく良いんですよね。
Tシャツにしろ音源にしろ、今まで全部自分たちでアートワークをやってきてるので
人にやってもらえる楽しさがあったし、上がってきたのが良いものだったので嬉しいです。

I posted the last one in Jan, and spring is coming now. As we shouted on Facebook and Twitter recently, HOTEL MEXICO new 7inch is to be released from UK label Double Denim Records in April!!! We've been playing both 2 songs in live since last summer, so you may know them. It always happens to bands and labels that it took a bit long time to announce the new release since they had made it. This was the first case for us, now we are so excited that we 'break this out in good weather' indeed. You check the sleeve of this item above, WE LOVE IT. It's also the first time anyone created our item's artwork. We are glad such a good one came up!! This is 300 copies limited, please grab your own one!

a long good night in autumn

8月アタマから毎週末詰め込んだsummer showsも今月の3日で終わりました。
来てくれた皆さん本当にありがとうございます！
途中から新曲をセットに入れたりして、一月ちょっとをとても楽しむことが出来ました。
だけど僕らは夏にしか活動しないバンドではないので、ちゃんと次も決まっています！！
9月3日に一緒にやったCuz Me Painと、更にLove Actionも迎えて京都でちょっと大きめにやります！
第一部のLIVEに関してはこの日が活動休止前ラストになるAAPS、新譜リリース直後となるTBA
といったメンツを迎えてやるのをHOTEL MEXICOも楽しみにしています。
第二部もSecond Royal × Cuz Me Pain × Love Actionが三者ともフルのメンツで入り乱れるので、
本当に、どうなるんでしょうね。
これだけ見どころが多い上に予想がつかないのでとても楽しみです。
17時からの第一部と23時からの第二部に分けてやります。
3連休の中日、楽しみに来てください！！！



We've finished the five weekends summer shows starts at the beginning of Augst. Thanks very much for all who came those places, we enjoyed them a lot. We were glad to debut 2 new songs during this summer shows.
Of course we are not the band works only in summer, we've got the another date. We will do another big night in Kyoto with the label Cuz Me Pain who we did a final date of summer shows together in Tokyo, and the label Love Action. It has some unmissable acts then. AAPS from Cuz Me Pain will do a final gig before they are taking break, and The Brixton Academy will just have released their 2nd 'Bright As Diamonds'. Besides, it's like all star DJs from Second Royal, Cuz Me Pain, Love Action are gathering. I can't guess what will happen!! Bands to play for the first half starts from 17:00, and DJs plays in the second half starts from 23:00.

the last post about ELELEL show in Osaka was the last one to fill up our summer shows in August. but, we have no doubt that the beginning of September is still hot. so, this show in the first weekend in September is the finish of our summer show round. its 3rd time that Cuz Me Pain and HOTEL MEXICO do an event together. we did 2 shows in Tokyo and Kyoto last autumn, and we all enjoyed them very much. so I'm really glad to announce this show today, coz we have been talking about do this event again since last time. I'm sure it'll be awsome night this time again!!!! We, ourselves, are expecting much for it, please come down to have a big fun.

いつも通り少し間が空きました。
この間には日本時間の早朝からGorillaとBearがLesしてるというような事があって
それ以降HOTEL MEXICOを新たに知ってくれた人が多くいて嬉しく思ってます。
でも3月27日からライブをしていないので、
そういう風にして初めて知ってくれた人も前から知ってた人も
何よりバンド自身がライブ無いなぁ・・・とうずうずしてました。
もういい加減暑くなって、蝉も鳴くようになって、
この時期にライブせんわけにいかんだろうということで何本か詰め込みました。

since last post, there was that Gorilla and Bear did Les action in the very early morning in Japanese time. We are very happy more people had got a chance to know us then, and had more new listeners after that.
We didn't any gig since our last show @ clubasia, 27th Mar. So both you and band have got frustrated for half a year. But it's already summer you know, cicadas -some people really don't know this insect- are noisey. then, we've got these summer shows now!! 3 of them are announced today. you choose which or all to go. There is even our first outdoor show in it!!

Spring didn't really spring well today

お久しぶりです。

一般流通、ライブ、そして今日の為の準備etcで忙しくしていました。
一般流通については、既に買ってくれてる人たちから
「この店でこんな風に取り上げられてたよ」という報告や写真をもらって嬉しかったし、
これを機に買ったという声も多く聞いてこれもまた嬉しく思ってます。
ジャケほんと良いと思うんで、限定・一般両方買ってもいいと思いますよ。
怖がらずに、既に両方買ってくれてる人いるので。


ライブは、3月12日に新曲をセットに入れてからホント気分良く出来てます。
それまでよりも充実感があるというか。
東京も、asiaという広いところで出来てステージの広さを気持ちよく楽しむことが出来ました。
asiaだけじゃなく、来てくれたみなさんありがとうございます。
次のライブの予定は今ちょっと立てられてないんですが、
夏にはいくつか入れたいと思ってるんで、国内外のフェス情報をチェックしながら待っていてください。
「メキシコの名前をFES情報の中に見つけて！」ってことじゃないです、念の為。
脳内タイムテーブル組んで楽しみましょうってことです。

この通常盤リリースに伴って限定盤は取り扱いが終了するので、

最初一般流通の話を聞いた時は、驚いただけだったんですが、

I was just surprised when I heard this Standard Edition's release first time. But knowing this title is available from big music stores like this or this or this makes me feel like, "wow, are they sure!". Coachella 2011のLine Upが発表されたので、
HOTEL MEXICOも2月3月のライブ情報を発表します！
STYROFOAM Japan tourは既に発表していましたが、
これを含めて大阪・京都・名古屋と東京もありますので。
CoachellaのLine Upはヘッドライナーだけ見て「なんだ・・・」って思わないようにしましょう。
あのポスターはむしろ小さい字の所に見るべきものがあります。
あと、Coachellaのページ重いです。

HOTEL MEXICO new 7" Its Twinkle / Do you Do you HAIAが今日1月24日リリースされました！！
HOTEL MEXICOにとって初のアナログなので嬉しいです！
当初2010年内リリース予定でしたが、魔の海外プレスでやっぱり遅れました。
それでも思ってたよりは早かったんですが。
今回も、今までお世話になっているJET SET、FLAKE RECORDS、FILE UNDERなどで取り扱って頂いてます。
そして更に、ROUGH TRADEとPUREGROOVEでの取り扱いも決まっています！！
こちらは向こうでアップされ次第このブログでも紹介できたらと思っているので楽しみにしていてください。

HOTEL MEXICO new 7" Its Twinkle / Do you Do you HAIA is out today (24th Jan)!! We are so glad to have this our first record title. It was due out in 2010, but those record press machines are not working in time often. I can say it's not later than I expected. This title is available from JET SET, FLAKE RECORDS, FILE UNDER etc. Besides, this will be available from ROUGH TRADE and PUREGROOVE!!! I'll tell you when it'll be on their pages later, please keep your eyes on here. We sell it at tomorrow's show with THE SUZAN of course!

３連休はライブ立て続けに二本で、
しかも難波のアートスペースっていう初めての場所と、
おなじみのMETROでフリーイベントという初めての機会で、
なんか連休通して珍しい過ごし方をした気がします。
両方ともすごく楽しめました。来てくれた皆さんありがとうございました！！




そして次は2月のSTYROFOAM、の前に一本、THE SUZANとの対バンが決定しました！！
平日の、火曜日なんですが、皆さん是非METROにお越しください。
19時スタートなんで、オレの経験では定時ダッシュしたら間に合います。
今知ったんですが、当日でも2000円なんですね。これ決め手だな。

GuitarのRieとVocalのSaoriで2003年夏に結成され、のちにDrumsのNICO、BassのIkueが加入しての現在四人編成。世界に自分たちの音楽を広めるべく国際的な活動を行っている。初ライブが2004年9月の東京ビッグサイト、同年12月の渋谷クアトロでのイベント参加等の数本のライブ経験にも関わらず、突如ヨーロッパ遠征へ。 2005年冬のベルリンでの海外初ライブを封切りに、その年の夏にはロンドン、ベルリン、ライプチヒ、そして2006年春にはCBGB、Knitting Factory等の名門ライブハウスでのライブを含む全8公演のNew York tourを敢行。その夏には、UKバンド、The BishopsのリリースパーティでのOAや、大御所バンド、Radio Birdmanの前座をつとめ、ロンドン、リヴァプール、マンチェスターなど６公演のUK tourを大成功におさめる。また、2007年夏に待望のフルアルバム『SUZAN GALAXY』を曽我部恵一氏主宰のRose Recordsからリリースすると同時に、The Go! TeamのUK tourのオープニングアクトに大抜擢され、ツアー先の海外ファンを唸らせる。そして、運命のいたずらとも言える出会いに導かれ、 『Young Folks』でおなじみのPeter Bjorn and Johnのベース兼プロデューサー、Bjorn Yttlingにプロデュースされたアルバムを、Kanye Westお抱えDJ、A-Trak主宰のレーベルFool’s Gold /Downtownよりこの秋ついにリリース!!

明けましておめでとうございます！！

年末にはメンバーそれぞれの2011セレクトを楽しんでもらえたでしょうか。

あーこんなことしてんだなぁと思いながら、プレゼントをくれる際の参考にしてもらえたらと思います。

それぞれのタイトルに使っている「what we did during the week...」というのは

optimoが年末イベントで配っていたmix CDのタイトルから拝借しています。愛をこめて。

そんな12月最終週までかかったブログの年末企画も終わって

メンバー一同年越しイベントなど誰も行かずに日本人らしく正月休みを満喫していましたが、

一月第二週末の三連休にはライブが立て続けに2本もあります！！！

9日は難波、10日は京都でSECOND ROYALのFREE SHOWCASEです。

どちらもデイイベントなので、気軽に遊びに来てください。

2011年もHOTEL MEXICOから目が離せないのは確実です！よろしくお願いします！！！
